Başkan Eşki: “Dirençli kentler, güçlü yarınlar için çalışıyoruz.”

Buca sınırındaki Gökdere Köyü’nde dün öğle saatlerinde çıkan yangın, akşam saatlerinde kontrol altına alınarak söndürüldü. Yangına müdahale sürecine Bornova Belediyesi adeta çıkarma yaptı. 200 personel, iş makineleri, yangın müdahale araçları ve su tankerleriyle yangınla mücadelede büyük rol üstlenildi. Bornova Belediye Başkanı Ömer Eşki de yangının başladığı andan itibaren ekiplerle birlikte sahadaydı.

YOMA ve tankerlerle alandaydı

Bornova Belediyesi Gökdere’de çıkan yangında tüm imkanları ile alandaydı. Belediye bünyesinde oluşturulan ve “YOMA” (Yangın Olaylarına Müdahale Aracı) adını taşıyan özel araçlar, uzun mesafeye su sıkabilen donanımlar, su tankerleri ve iş makineleriyle destek verildi. 200 kişilik özel ekip, yangının kontrol altına alınması ve soğutma çalışmalarına aktif olarak katıldı.

Orman, sanayi ve tarım alanları tehlikedeydi

Yangının çıktığı bölge; sanayi, tarım alanları, ormanlık alanlar ve yaşam alanlarının iç içe geçtiği bir konumda yer alıyor. Bu da yangının olası etkilerini çok daha yıkıcı hale getiriyordu. Müdahalenin zamanında ve koordineli yapılması sayesinde olası büyük bir felaketin önüne geçildi. Başkan Eşki, yangının kontrol altına alınmasından duyduğu memnuniyeti dile getirirken, “Eğer yangın büyüseydi çok daha büyük bir alanı kaybedebilirdik. Ama tek bir ağacın bile yanması hepimiz için çok büyük bir kayıptır” dedi.

“Afetlere karşı dirençli kentler kurmalıyız”

Yangınla mücadele sırasında yaptığı açıklamada Başkan Eşki, afetlere karşı dayanıklı şehirlerin ancak yatırım ve planlama ile mümkün olduğunu vurguladı. “Ülkemiz, maalesef afetlere karşı yeterli önlemi almayan bir anlayışla yönetiliyor. Biz Bornova Belediyesi olarak geçen yıldan bu yıla hazırlıklarımızı artırdık, önümüzdeki yıl daha da güçlü olacağız. Türkiye afetlere çok açık bir ülke. Bu gerçeği görmeli ve dirençli hale gelmeliyiz. Unutmayalım: Başka bir Türkiye yok, başka bir dünya yok. Bu konuda herkes üzerine düşeni yapmalı.” diye konuştu.

A close friend served as the surrogate. “What started as a bit of a joke quickly turned into something we began seriously researching,” Maskin writes. “And ultimately, it was perfect.
